Pundit Tam McManus has given a withering assessment of Celtic's £25m summer transfer splurge.
Brendan Rodgers invested significant funds in improving his squad depth and splashed a club record £11m on German kid Arne Engels from Augsburg, £9m to Norwich for Adam Idah and £5m for Auston Trusty from Sheffield United.
None started in the 3-0 defeat to Rangers on Thursday and only Trusty was selected for the League Cup Final - before being hooked at half-time.
And McManus reckons Idah in particular needs to get more game time.
He told PLZ: "I think Trusty will be back in the team because I think Scales had a dreadful game, really poor and I think that Trusty will be back in the team. But you're right, I think Engels not really hit the ground running. Adam Idah was brilliant and loan, £9m? He doesn't look like £9m!

"I think Idah is the type of guy, for me as an ex-striker, that needs to play every week. I don't think he can come in and out of the team. I think Kyogo can do that. I think Kyogo is just, he can come in, and he's naturally fit. I think Idah needs to play 90 minutes every week. He's a big unit, he's a big boy.

"I think bringing him in for 20 minutes, Kyogo playing and then bringing him back a couple of weeks later, that's no good for Adam Idah. But that's the way it's going to be at Celtic in terms of squad rotation. But I think if you're a Celtic fan, you're looking at those three big buys and you're thinking they've not really hit the ground running so far."
