You can never have too much bling and designer Suneet Varma vouches for it. Over the years we have seen him indulging in a blingy affair with his garments. And for this season's India Couture Week, Suneet gave a befitting name to his dazzling collection-Sitara.
The collection was a modern and theatrical representation of the modern Indian woman who lives in the present - yet embraces the romance of traditional Indian couture - which is like a sixth sense of seduction.
It has its own vocabulary and language, like an elaborate braid entwined with history, myth, and tradition. It may be modern, whimsical, or demure- but always magnificent and carefully crafted.
The collection's highlights were red lehengas with sequin work, sexy blouse designs with cutout detailing and trendy necklines. The blouses were surely stunning and he teamed those blouses with blingy saris.
The designer also introduced menswear this season with a lot of pastel sherwanis, embroidered kurtas and bundis.
The mix of traditional motifs with abstract artworks enhanced by the age-old crafts of India made for a Perfect – feminine, romantic and modern woman.
