The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Rafah has been informed by Israeli authorities that fighting will persist in western Rafah, as reported on Wednesday. The ICRC spokesperson in Jerusalem, Sarah Davies, stated that the organization lacks precise details about the operation and has not received an evacuation order. Consequently, ICRC's activities, including those at the field hospital, will continue uninterrupted.
In response to the situation, the ICRC is implementing additional internal security and safety measures. Despite the circumstances, the ICRC has decided to remain at its current location in the Shams safe house and is enhancing security protocols.
Meanwhile, many Palestinians in the Al-Alam area of West Rafah have begun packing their belongings following warnings of an imminent military operation. Videos depict individuals dismantling tents and shelters established during previous displacements.
One displaced Gazan resident, Muhanad, mentioned that they were leaving due to the anticipated military action after residing in Rafah for eight months. They are relocating to Deir Al-Balah at Muhanad's grandfather's house. Another resident, Layla Aiwada, also decided to evacuate with her children upon hearing about the military operation. Layla stated that they had been in Rafah for two weeks and were previously at Bader Camp.
