Iconic Putter Brand Zebra Is Back! Return Of AIT 1 Design Headlines New Range

Zebra Golf AIT 1 putter

Iconic putter brand Zebra Golf is well and truly back, with the unmistakable AIT 1 mallet head headlining the return of the much-loved and Major-winning putter range.

Revitalised following Majors success in the hands of Ray Floyd (1976) and Nick Price (1994) Zebra is recognised as one of the putter designs that changed the game and is one of the most iconic mallet putters ever made.

Design and technology combine with expertise from some of the game's most experienced putter designers in a new Zebra range solely geared to helping the golfer be more successful on the putting greens.

Created to be the ideal balance between alignment, forgiveness, weighting, feel, and roll the classic mallet head remains faithful to the original distinctive classic Zebra putter look with the familiar striped alignment system.

A new oversized mallet head is face balanced to boost MOI and forgiveness on the greens and a horseshoe-shaped soleplate lowers the centre of gravity and allows the addition of removable weights in the sole and heel to create a highly stable head at impact.

Every element of a new AIT 1 Zebra putter, from the head shape to the face insert, has been rigorously tested using computer-generated Artificial Intelligence Technology to find the perfect MOI and centre of gravity to ensure maximum performance.

In addition to the striped alignment system, the AIT 1 also features a grooved face insert that precisely controls the friction at impact needed to deliver the correct amount of topspin to the golf ball to ensure consistent distance control across a wide portion of the face.

The grooves not only work with the stroke to impart topspin, but they also serve to lower the launch angle, therefore, minimizing skidding and getting the ball into the ‘roll phase’ more quickly - vital when controlling a putt’s overall distance.

The AIT 1 also features adjustable weighting technology, with weight ports located in the sole of the putter where weights of 10g, 15g and 20g can sit. Changing the weights increases or decreases the weight of the head to suit an individual’s putting stroke.

Leveraging all of Zebra’s impressive design heritage, including the Major-winning striped alignment system, the new range features an additional three modern head shapes including: a fang (AIT 2), high-MOI flange (AIT 3), and a wide-bodied blade (AIT 4), to suit every putting stroke and every type of golfer.

KBS stable stepped shafts are fitted as standard on the AIT range. Stiffer than traditional putter shafts, they provide increased stability when used with heavier head weights. A Winn VSN midsized pistol grip is offered as standard.

The Zebra AIT 1, 2 and 3 models retail at £199.99, with the #4 at £189.99.
