An iconic glamourous summer ball has coined in a whopping £37,000 to continue an Ayrshire charity’s crucial services in the community.
Guests dressed to impress when they attended Ayrshire Hospice’s Summer Ball at Trump Turnberry Hotel & Spa for an evening of fundraising for the local charity.
The evening, which makes a welcoming return after a two year break due to the pandemic, was hosted by Scottish comedian and TV/radio presenter Des Clarke, while top charity auctioneer Alex Fleming helped to raise an incredible amount in the main auction.
Entertainment included the Maybole Pipe Band, dance performances from the West End hit, ‘Here Come the Boys’, and local artist Elaine Johnston, who painted a masterpiece live during the auction.
And of course there was plenty of shimmying on the dance floor as guests grooved out to wonderful live music by the MC4 Function Band.
Guests also heard from Ayrshire Hospice CEO, Tracy Flynn, as well as one of the Hospice’s inspirational patients, who spoke about the positive impact that the care and services provided by the Hospice have for those across Ayrshire and Arran.
The charity provide services to those affected by any life-limiting illness including cancer, neurological conditions, end stage heart failure and lung disease.
Ayrshire Hospice CEO, Tracy Flynn, said: “Our Summer Ball is an iconic event in the calendar and to return after a two-year absence this event certainly did not disappoint - it was a fabulous evening from start to finish, while raising awareness of our crucial services.”
The Ayrshire Hospice thanked all who gave their generous support towards the event, and to everyone who kindly donated prizes to the auction and raffle, including; Ayr Audi, Corum, Kestrel Press, 1st Legal Lawyers and event sponsors Dowhill Farm, Loch Lomond Whiskies, Orli Jewellery, David Gilbert Photography, Hollow Park Florists, Small Town Audio, Kerr & Smith and Atlas Minibus.
The Hospice also thanked the volunteers for supporting on the night and the committee of Margaret Jane Limond, Lynn Bentley, Laura Alexander and Claire Currie, who work tirelessly throughout the year to help plan this wonderful event.
