An iconic former police box on Edinburgh's Leith Walk has been transformed into a station to offer free meals as the temperature drops.
Leith Community Growers offer free community meals at the box, serving soup and hot drinks through the winter. Until the end of March, volunteers are there serving people who need it every Monday from 6pm until they run out.
On Monday, March 6, they offered tomato and basil and carrot and ginger. The vegan friendly soups are free and are served with bread with spread.

Leith Community Growers posted on Facebook that they are sharing free community meals through winter. As the cold snap hits Edinburgh, Leith locals or passersby can pick up a cup of soup near Shrubhill.
To reduce waste, the police box ask people to bring a mug, bowl and spoon if they can.
Leith Community Growers have said that the main aim for this was not only to provide free meals during the winter months but also to create a space for people to get together, chat, meet their neighbours and experience community. The project was funded through Edinburgh Wellbeing Pact - Coorie In for Winter. As this has come to an end, the last stall will be on Monday, March 27.
The Leith Walk police box was installed in 1933 and used to include a siren on the top like the one seen on the Tardis. Back when they were functioning, they would include a sink, a phone, a kettle, a heater, a small desk where they could fill out forms.
However, the need for police boxes came to an end over time and in 2012, 22 police boxes around Edinburgh and the Lothians and the Leith Walk Police box was included.
It now runs as a pop-up space and can be used by sellers, artists and the community. It is not used by Police Scotland.
