If you're a tourist in New York, there's a few things you must do: see the Statue of Liberty, walk through Central Park, and see a Broadway show.
For the past 35 years, the show that many have chosen for their big theater experience has been the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic musical "Phantom of the Opera," which opened on Oct. 9, 1986 and has been running ever since.

But now it's finally time for the show's curtain call. On April 16, the musical will be performed for the last time in its home at the Majestic Theatre.
Despite "Phantom's" impressive earning power -- the musical made $1.3 billion in New York City alone during its run -- it grew more dependent on tourist traffic over time.
“Over the years, the number of good weeks at the box office started to shrink,” producer Cameron Mackintosh said. “Some of the really bad weeks, we lost a lot of money, particularly in New York.”
If you're feeling heavy-hearted about the whole thing, soothe your soul with this special arrangement of "Think of Me" performed by the trio that played the three main roles of The Phantom, Christine, and Raoul at the end of its run, Ben Crawford, Emilie Kouatchou, and John Riddle. Andrew Lloyd Webber arranged it himself as a way to commemorate the end of an era, so it's well worth a listen.
