Iceland to sell 'favourite' new sweet treat - and it's about to hit the shelves

With a recent hot spell and more sunny weather on the way, it is no wonder shoppers are clambering for ice lollies and cooling drinks. However, one new product has sent foodies into overdrive.

As Nottingham gets ready for a predicted heatwave that could reach 32 degrees, some shoppers may be preparing to stock up their freezers. Iceland shoppers have spotted new Fruit-tella Fruit Stack Ice Lollies that is coming to stores and it has sent many into a frenzy.

After a picture of the new iced sweet treats appeared on Facebook page Newfoodsuk, some 496 people commented on the post in addition to creating over 750 reactions. People were thrilled to discover that their favourite sweet had been turned into a lolly and an Instagram post under the same name clocked up nearly 2k likes in four days.

People began tagging in friends, reported Liverpool Echo, who first spotted the post, which says the treats are "out next week at Iceland Foods". The publication quoted some of the comments. One said: "My favourites in lolly form". Another added: "I bet these are tasty. I have the sweets all the time".

The comments continued with one person tagging in a friend and saying: "We need to go to Iceland". Another said: "These are ice creams I’m defo up for eating!" With others declaring: "Oh need to try these".

The box shown in the post is of a family pack of 6 lollies. It's not the first sweet treat to be turned into an ice lolly. Iceland is also selling Swizzels Drumstick Squashies Jumbo Lollies for £2.25, Barratt Flumps Mini Vanilla Flavour Ice Cream Lollies for £2 and Swizzels Parma Violets Premium Violet Flavour Ice Lollies for £2.50.
