Iceland shoppers 'wowed' by 'unreal' new product they 'need'

Iceland shoppers are eager to snap up an "unreal" new savoury snack after spotting it online.

The popular supermarket chain boasts more than 950 stores across the country, as well as a multi-award-winning online shopping service. The retailer is known and loved for its extensive range of frozen food, as well as its regular releases of new products.

Like many stores, Iceland's items are frequently shared on social media and, recently, one of its new products caused a stir on Instagram. Hit food account @newfoodsuk has amassed a loyal following of more than 274K, thanks to its regular updates on all the latest food releases spotted in stores up and down the country.

The food focused page delighted Iceland shoppers after sharing a photo of the retailer's new 'Salt & Pepper Crunchies'. The savoury snack, which is currently sold out online, features hash brown tater tots created with shredded potato, blended with green peppers, red peppers and onions. It also includes a salt and pepper seasoning sachet.

Captioning an image of the coveted product, @newfoodsuk penned: "New Salt & Pepper Crunchies at Iceland! We just noticed these online at Iceland, but not in stock as of yet, guessing they will be out soon!"

The tots proved popular on the hit social media platform, with the image racking up more than 1,400 likes in just a matter of hours. Shoppers shared their thoughts in the comments section.

Saffii tagged a friend and said: "shopping trip". Hannah told a friend: "omggg hash brown in any form is heaven". Jenny tagged a friend and said: "we need these ASAP!" Fi said: "yuuuuum yes!!"

Suzanne commented: "oh wow". Robyn said: "I need these!!!" Reece simply said: "unreal". Deborah added: "NEED!!!"
