Iceland shoppers in a frenzy over new 'quarter pounder' sized hash browns

Iceland shoppers are in breakfast heaven after spotting its new ‘hash brown quarter pounders’.

The supermarket has a legion of loyal customers who love its low cost frozen items, including pizzas, party food and Slimming World ready meals. But many look set to put the January health kick on hold after spotting the new items that are coming to stores soon.

One excited shopper even said seeing them ‘made her scream’, while another said they would be great for a ‘fakeaway’ McDonald’s. For most people, a big juicy weekend breakfast isn’t complete with the addition of a hash brown and this new product from Iceland looks set to change the game.

As the name suggests, the hash browns mimic the size of a quarter pounder burger, and looks sensational stuffed inside an English muffin alongside some crispy bacon and a runny fried egg.

Sharing a picture of the tempting new treat, Instagram food blogger newfoodsuk said: “New Hash Brown Quarter Pounders coming very soon to @icelandfoods”. The post proved popular with followers, racking up more than 5k likes and hundreds of comments and tags.

Johnnykershaw9015 said: “Oh yes please”. Amybartlett8 added: “I don’t know why but this has made me scream… in what world is this necessary”.

Mandy.willis.87 said: “Omg omg I think I need these in my life.” laylapea added: “Look at that potatoey goodness”.

_kiki.2401_ added: “The hash brown game this year is strong!!!” and cherylbeeton said: “It just keeps getting better”. And Hollysiancooke told a friend: “These would be good for your fakeaway mcdonalds.”
