Iceland's 1lb Big Daddy cheeseburger is almost ruined by one thing

Iceland is selling a 1lb 'Big Daddy' Cheeseburger for Father's Day once again. Selling out in previous years, the snack for dads who 'can't get enough cheese' has a major flaw.

Reviewers have given it the thumbs up, saying they '100% recommend' - apart from one customer declaring 'this thing needs to come with a body bag' as they thought they were 'gonna die eating it'.

This week, the Manchester Evening News taste-tested it, as well as some of Iceland's other Father's Day treats including the 12oz Big Daddy Sirloin Steak and the Big Daddy 16oz Rump Steak.

It's not a melt-in-the-middle cheeseburger, but rather the cheddar is infused throughout the meat, which the reviewer felt made it tastier. She has to admit there was a problem, though - finding a roll large enough to pop the burger in.

"One of Iceland's brioche buns just about held it in place, but the bottom half did go very soggy with the juice from the burger. A succulent burger is nothing to complain about though, and this bad boy was cooked perfectly on the barbecue and tasted delicious.

"I just about polished the whole thing off with a little breather halfway through. If you're not as greedy as me, they do quarter pounder versions too - a pack of four for £3.85.

"As for the father who these products are aimed at, he got his chops around the sirloin steak, while our 11 -year-old thought all his Christmases had come at once when he was greeted with his mighty rump.

"It might be 'the daddy of all feasts', but the whole family can get in on the action with these treats."

The Big Daddy Cheeseburger costs £3.85, or you can get three for £9. Quarter pounders can also be included in the three for £9 deal. The sirloin and rump steaks cost £5.50 each.

All items in the range are available at Iceland and The Food Warehouse, in stores and online while stocks last.
