In the film directed by and starring Ben Stiller, the town of Höfn stands in for Greenland, but a short drive west along Route 1 takes you close to Kálfafellsdalur and Fjallsárlón, a valley and a lake, that stood in for Afghanistan and the Himalayas respectively.
