A 'do not eat' warning has been issued after a label mix up on Mars and Snickers treats on sale at Iceland.
The dessert bars contain both egg and peanuts which are not declared on the packaging and could cause a potentially deadly reaction to those allergic to the ingredients.
The government's Food Standards Agency issued the warning which they describe as a "packaging error".
The products labelled as Mars Dessert Bars actually contain Snickers Dessert Bars.
The supermarket is recalling the Mars Dessert Bars in a pack size of 600g with a best before date of February 23, 2024.
The Food Standards Agency says: "Iceland Foods is recalling Mars Dessert Bar because it may contain peanuts and egg, which are not mentioned on the label.
"As a result of a packaging error, some packs have been incorrectly packed with Snickers Dessert Bar.
"This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts and/or an allergy or intolerance to egg."
Iceland Foods is recalling the product from customers and they are said to have contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.
In the notice, the supermarket said they are taking a "precautionary measure" due to a "mis-pack."
It also explains to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
Customers are being told to check the date on the side of the pack and if it is affected take the product back to store for a full refund. A receipt is not needed.
They can also call Iceland's customer careline on 0800 328 0800.
