Iceland is closing all its stores early on Sunday and home deliveries end at 5pm

Iceland will be closing all of its stores early on Sunday to allow staff to watch England in the women's Euros final.

The frozen food specialist and The Food Warehouse stores will all close at 4pm this weekend, so that staff can watch the Lionesses take on Germany.

The supermarket chain took the decision in order to support the Lionesses, and to ensure that staff have the chance to watch the final of the UEFA Women's Euros.

As well as closing the stores at 4pm, the retailer will be stopping all home deliveries at 5pm, in time for kick off.

England's ladies will be taking on Germany at a sold-out Wembley Stadium with kick off at 5pm. A record Women's Euros crowd is expected at the final, Liverpool Echo reports.

The Lionesses beat Sweden 4-0 at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night to win their place in Sunday's final, where England's women will be aiming to win their first major title.

Along with an early finish for its staff, Iceland will also be releasing a special pizza and drink bundle for fans to enjoy while cheering on the Lionesses.

The deal will be available in store and online and includes a choice of two Chicago Town pizzas and a three-litre bottle of Pepsi for £5, saving shoppers £4.25.

Richard Walker, managing director at Iceland, said: "We're immensely proud of our Lionesses and how far they have come to make it to the final on Sunday.

"Sporting achievements like this don't happen very often so we think it's only right to give our store teams the opportunity to watch this historic moment."
