Iceland hides black cards in stores which give a year's supply of chicken if found

Iceland fans can get a year’s supply of free chicken - if they find a special card hidden in some stores. The frozen food chain has said that the V.I.C or Very Important Chick card can be found in their shops from today (Monday May 15).

Anyone finding them should immediately make a staff member aware. On the chain’s instagram page people can also nominate friends and family to win.

In a post the chain said: “THE ICELAND V.I.C CARD. The exclusive card that gives a year's free chicken to Very Important Chicks.

“Know someone worthy of such a privilege? Simply like this post and tag your Very Important Chick to nominate them to win. We’re also hiding a select number of V.I.C cards in our stores across the nation from next week… keep your eyes peeled to find out more.”

There are five of the cards hidden in stores around the country and Iceland said the promotion was aimed at mums. Iceland has also given ‘VIC’ cards to ‘celebrity mums’, including Love Island’s Olivia Bowen and Gogglebox star Mica Ven. ‘Mum-fluencers’ Claire Barratt and Sophiena Bunce have shared their cards on their social channels.

Iceland head of category Samuel Robbins-Wells said: “Unlike other brands, our VIC card is created with mums in mind. We wanted to give back to the VICs who come to our stores for their weekly shop.

“As the home of many amazing partnerships and exclusives, all shoppers who visit us in-store and online can make the most of the value we offer and pick from our varied range of frozen products to find something the whole family can enjoy.”

Shoppers who find a hidden ‘VIC box’ in store must show it to an Iceland staff member to have the win verified. The winning ‘VIC’ nominated via Instagram is to be randomly selected on 23 May.

The card can be used to purchase from 215 frozen chicken products, including Iceland branded food and from its partnerships such as My Protein and TGIF.
