Iceland has good news for anyone using an air fryer to cook Christmas food

Iceland has launched a new Christmas party range that can be cooked in an air fryer. The money-saving kitchen appliance has been one of the biggest kitchen trends of 2022 as householders are hit by rising energy costs amid the cost of living crisis.

The devices cost anything from £30 to over £200 but can be cheaper to run than a traditional oven and the perceived savings has led to a huge spike in interest for air fryers.

Iceland has launched an entire party food range that can be cooked in an air fryer including fish and chip cones, king prawns, mini apple pie bites and duck spring rolls all priced at £2.50. Other party food in the range includes BBQ mozzarella sticks and cheese bites priced at £3.

All of the items in the new Iceland range are part of the three for £5 deal at the supermarket, which says it has launched hundreds of Christmas products that can be cooked entirely in an air fryer. The supermarket has launched an air fryer page listing the exclusive range.

Iceland has made the items available for delivery and has released thousands of Christmas delivery slots online. Next day delivery is available but the supermarket has warned people that slots are being booked quickly.

Iceland has announced shoppers will be able to shop in the store up until Christmas Eve this year but they will close on Boxing Day in order to give staff time off over the festive period. Richard Walker, Iceland's managing director, said on Twitter: "We'll be closing all our Iceland and Food Warehouse stores on Boxing Day, to give our colleagues a well-earned rest with their friends & families."

Boxing Day will fall on a Monday this year, but many shops that could reopen have chosen not to - as they did last year. Poundland, M&S, Aldi and Lidl have all confirmed stores will close for Boxing Day to give staff time off.
