An internal memo obtained by sources reveals that immigration agents have been instructed to locate and deport thousands of migrant children who entered the US without their parents. The memo details a four-phase plan, with the initial planning phase commencing on January 17. However, no specific start date for enforcement actions was mentioned in the memo.
According to reports, the targeted children would be required to appear in immigration court or face deportation if they had pending orders against them. ICE plans to categorize the children into three priority groups based on data collected from various government records, including assessments of 'flight risk,' 'public safety,' and 'border security.'

The memo also includes a section titled the 'Unaccompanied Alien Children Joint Initiative Field Implementation,' which outlines efforts to safeguard children from human trafficking and other forms of exploitation.
Recently, the Trump administration reversed a decision to cut legal services for unaccompanied migrant children. A memo issued by the Department of Interior stated that legal service providers are now permitted to resume their work, without providing an explanation for the policy reversal.
