Newcastle's ice rink is back open outside the Life Science Centre and will be available to skate on until mid-January.
There are also rinks and synthetic rinks in other parts of the North East open for the festive season, as well as the permanent ice rink in Whitley Bay.
Sunderland's usual rink, in Keel Square, is not opening in 2022.
