Newcastle's popular open-air ice rink is set to make a welcome return to the city centre this Christmas.
The Life Science Centre ice rink has been a hit with Geordies over the years and now the popular attraction is preparing to open in Times Square once again for the festive season. The rink will welcome its first skaters on Saturday, November 12, and will remain open after the New Year until Sunday, January 15.
The centre says the rink is suitable for people of all ages and abilities, with skating aids available to rent for those gaining confidence on the ice.
Once again, the centre has said it can cater for groups of up to 20 people and has promised that special Christmas Eve sessions will be available, however, pre-booking is essential. Early bird tickets are on sale now and people are being urged to book online in advance.

How much will ice skating cost and how do you book?
Family of four (max two adults): £40
Adults: £13.50
Children (10-17 years): £12
Children (aged nine and under): £10
Separate prices apply for Christmas Eve skating. Sessions last around 45 minutes with an additional 15 minutes to fit skates.
