Following the start of Donald Trump's second presidency, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have ramped up efforts to crack down on illegal immigration, emphasizing that no one will receive a free pass anymore. ICE officers in Maryland recently conducted targeted operations to apprehend individuals with serious criminal backgrounds who were in the country illegally.

Under the new administration, ICE's enforcement priorities remain focused on individuals deemed public safety and national security threats. Notably, a significant change from the previous administration is the authorization for officers to arrest individuals without legal status if encountered during operations targeting specific removal cases.

During a recent operation in Maryland, ICE arrested a total of 13 individuals, with nine being targeted for removal and four identified as collateral arrests. These collateral arrests included individuals with criminal convictions such as aggravated theft and prior deportations.

The Trump administration has also expanded collaboration with other agencies, including the FBI, DEA, and ATF, in immigration enforcement operations. Daily ICE arrests have surged under the new directives, reaching the highest levels recorded, with a notable increase in arrests at sensitive locations previously off-limits.
