Ibrox crowd to sing national anthem in memory of Queen Elizabeth II

Packed Ibrox crowd to sing national anthem in memory of Queen Elizabeth II

THE national anthem will be played prior to Rangers' Champions League game with Napoli tomorrow night.

It has been confirmed that the Ibrox crowd will sing the anthem in tribute Queen Elizabeth II.

Her Majesty sadly passed away last Thursday after 70-years on the British throne.

The country is officially in mourning, with the state funeral planned for Monday, September 19.

All football was postponed at the weekend as clubs around the country paid their respects.

However, the game is back with Champions League action this midweek - and Rangers will pay their tributes.

A minutes' silence will take place on Wednesday evening prior to the 8pm kick-off in Glasgow. UEFA have instructed that all matches involving teams from the UK carry this mark of respect out.

Afterwards, it has been confirmed that the national anthem will be played.
