It's not unusual for a player to get choked up amidst the celebrations of a final victory - although Ibrahima Konate got more than he bargained for after Liverpool lifted the Carabao Cup on Sunday.
The Reds defender came off the bench for extra time in the Wembley showdown before cooly dispatching his penalty in a thrilling shootout, which culminated with Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga blazing his spot kick over the crossbar.
The result saw Konate collect his first piece of silverware for Liverpool since joining the club in the summer, as well as hand Jurgen Klopp his first domestic cup in the Reds' hotseat.
Liverpool last won the League Cup back in 2012 and it was the club's first major honour since being crowned Premier League champions in 2020 as thoughts now turn to the prospect of a potential quadruple.
But whilst the Reds largely kept a lid on their celebrations, Konate almost came a cropper at the hands of an enthusiastic piece of confetti.

After Liverpool had climbed the Wembley stairs to collect their prize, cannons sprayed gold confetti into the sky as Jordan Henderson held the cup aloft.
During the excitement, one of the bits of confetti then flew into Konate's mouth, as he made a panicked attempt to remove it by grabbing and slapping the gold piece of paper until it slipped off his tongue.
Footage clearly showed Konate in a brief moment of distress, though it was much to the amusement of teammate Andy Robertson, who couldn't help but laugh at the defender's misfortune.
Robertson is widely considered one of the jokers in the Liverpool squad, and he later teased captain Henderson in the dressing room.
The Scottish full-back had been one of the players towards the back end of Liverpool's list of penalty takers and roared with delight when his effort found the net.
Henderson had already been substituted by this stage, but was watching on nervously from the sidelines, with Robertson questioning whether his skipper had kept faith in him.
"He didn't back me, he didn't back me," Robertson said in front of the rest of the team as he pointed in Henderson's direction.
But Henderson denied the accusation. "Of course I backed you," he replied.
The confetti incident clearly didn't dampen Konate's mood, as he posted on Twitter later that evening: "First trophy for this great club! What a feeling."
Klopp played a big part in Konate's decision to leave regular football behind at RB Leipzig to fight for minutes at Liverpool, as the 22-year-old revealed a chat he had with the Reds' manager before his transfer.
“I said, ‘okay, if I was your son and your son was in my position, what would you tell him to do?'" Konate revealed to the Sunday Times.
“Klopp said, ‘okay, this club is good and that club is good, but for sure I would tell him to go to Liverpool’. As he was saying this I watched nothing else but his eyes. To see if he was sincere.
“And I saw sincerity on his face. I said, ‘this decision will be good for me’. And after, when you think about the other players at Liverpool . . . which players don’t want to come here?”
