| guys due respect I think you need to incorporate the 10 year Treasury into any analysis - the "new rally" coincided with a sharp pullback in the 10 year yield - that has taken a hit with a reversal in the yield - the market seems to be increasingly convinced that interest rates will be at a higher new normal - that will require a period of adjustment for equities. |
As David Ryan noted too, absolutely, this measure of the cost of money is, to me, having an especially inordinate impact on stocks on a day to day basis. |

| anyone see new on LMT breakdown? | Reports say it now expects to deliver 97 F-35 jets in 2023 vs a prior announcement of 100. Lockheed also says this news does not affects its financial outlook. There's additional news regarding a tech refresh regarding this awesome jet, but it seems like there are other bigger issues that are hitting the aerospace names -- RTX, NOC are fellow examples of weakness here. |

| Scott's argument for CRWD was so persuasive that I bought. Only problem is, I fat-fingered the entry and accidentally bought CRED, the Columbia Real Estate ETF. By the time I realized my mistake, I closed it for a $4.20 loss, but am happy to report that my subsequent purchase of CRWD, the correct ticker, has already erased that loss and I'm all the better for the lesson in the mechanics of careful trade entry. |

| What are your girls investing in in their ROTHs? | I started with an ETF. Once we get a little more in it, I'll switch to adding individual stocks. At the end of the day, it will also depend on her interest and engagement. |
| FYI, roth ira is restricted for AGI above certain thresholds for single and joint so it's not available for everyone. Great advice for working children that are under that limit restriction. | Personally, I use the backdoor Roth IRA contribution. Also fortunate to have my 401(k) with Fidelity and have access to the mega-backdoor Roth contribution. Something you can look up online. |

| Some of us that have this ancient thing thats nearly extinct called a pension (remember those) aren't eligible for an IRA. But we do have 457's, 401k's and 403B's which some of them have a roth option | Ahh, the pension. | Those who have a huge amount in IRAs should strongly consider mega Roth conversions to take out a percentage per year, pay the tax, and try to avoid the RMDs. Not tax advice but really, really important to get money into the Roth at any age. | I add to my Roth every year. |

| Roth is where ALL catch funds will have to go for high wage earners. This was to take effect on 1/1/2024 but 2 weeks ago it was delayed for 2 years. On August 25, 2023, the IRS issued notice 2023-62. This notice delays the effective date of the Roth catch-up provisions of Section 603 of the SECURE Act 2.0 until taxable years beginning after December 31, 2025; a two-year delay of this provision. |
