New Delhi: Senior IAS officer Ajay Seth has been given the additional charge of Secretary, Department of Revenue.
Ajay Seth, who belongs to 1987-batch of Karnataka cadre, currently is Economic Affairs Secretary.

The announcement comes after senor IAS officer Sanjay Malhotra was elevated as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Malhotra was serving as Revenue Secretary in the Ministry of Finance.
Notification issued
"The Competent Authority has approved assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Revenue to Shri Ajay Seth, lAS (KN:1987), Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs with immediate effect till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier," a notification issued by Appointments Committee of the Cabinet read.

Education
Seth holds B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. He has over three decades of experience in the domains of public finance and social sector administration dealing with matters related to budget, tax policy, foreign investments, bilateral and multilateral financial cooperation, development financing, and public-private-partnerships.
