Ianis Hagi reckons he will play the best football of his career during the rest of this season after his impressive return to Rangers' first team.

The Romanian international has started the last two games after his Ibrox exile was ended following a contract dispute after a serious knee injury.

He seems certain to get an extended run in Philippe Clement's team now and the 26-year-old, in an interview in his homeland, expressed his delight that he's back to being a major player for Rangers again.

He said: "I appreciate the fact I have been given a new chance by Rangers.

"I know that football is made of opinions, but if you respect football, you will be rewarded.

"I continued to train as best I could and waited for my chance, including during the months when I didn't play for Rangers.

Hagi said: "The 18 months I spent at Fiorentina were crucial for my growth. I only played two games for the first team, but I learned a lot from that experience. I managed to understand who I am and I had a good relationship with the fans.

"But I'm happy in Glasgow now, I love Rangers and I've won a lot of trophies here.
