Arsenal legend Ian Wright has blamed Casemiro for Leon Bailey's opening goal as Manchester United fell to a 3-1 defeat at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon.
It was the worst possible start for United as Bailey fired home in the seventh minute. It got worse for the Reds moments later when Lucas Digne curled home a free kick to make it two.
Luke Shaw's heavily-deflected strike gave United hope going into the second half but Jacob Ramsey put the game beyond doubt as he tucked in a cutback from Ollie Watkins. Assessing the defeat post-match on Premier League Productions, Wright claimed that United's Brazilian midfielder should have assessed the danger better for Bailey's strike.

"Ollie Watkins played very well, he ran himself into the ground today," the 59-year-old explained. "Once it got to Leon Bailey on his left foot, it was going to be a problem.
"[Watkins] dragged [Victor] Lindelof out of his position, I was thinking Casemiro has got to drop in there. It just looks too big, there was a massive space.
"You can see once the ball went in to Leon Bailey on his strong foot [he was going to score]. It could have been avoided. They needed to have their wits about them there. I’m very surprised Casemiro didn’t see that."
Defeat for United means they remain fifth in the table following Chelsea's loss earlier in the day against Arsenal. After Liverpool's victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the late game and Newcastle's thrashing of Southampton, United are now three points off the Champions League spots with a game in hand over those above them in the table.
