Ian Wright has revealed that, if he was Arsenal, he would offer Gabriel Martinelli 'whatever he wants' in order to extend his future at the club. The 21-year-old, who has recently entered the final two years of his current deal with the Gunners, has been heavily linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium amid growing uncertainty as to whether he'll pen a new contract.
football.london understand that the north Londoners have the option to extend Martinelli's stay by a further two years, keeping him at London Colney until 2026. But, with an agreement yet to be reached, a handful of Premier League sides have registered an interest in the Brazilian, according to the Daily Mail.
With clubs beginning to queue up, Wright is eager for his former side to accelerate upcoming talks. Speaking on his podcast, The Ringer, the 58-year-old highlighted Martinelli's performance in Arsenal's dramatic 3-2 win over Liverpool at Anfield.

"The way Arsenal went about that game and the way Gabriel Martinelli played… he was doing the work of two men," Wright said. "He was blazing up and down that right side. I’m telling you, he’s the one. With Martinelli, if I’m Arsenal, I’m going in now and offering him whatever he wants."
Following Arsenal's win over Liverpool, Arteta was asked whether tying Martinelli down to a new deal was a priority. Speaking to football.london, the Gunners boss replied: "We don’t get directed by an individual performance.
"Gabby doesn’t have to show me whether he plays well or not well today what he deserves. What is clear is his hunger, his determination and his love for this game. You don’t know where he’s going to reach because he’s always asking and willing for more."
Martinelli has featured 11 times for Arsenal this season, directly contributing towards six goals. His impressive displays have guided the north Londoners towards the making of a title charge, having played key roles against both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Arteta will undoubtedly be keen to extend the Brazilian's future at the club. And, with clubs already reportedly circling, Arsenal may have to listen to Wright's advice.
