Arsenal legend lan Wright has been involved in a car crash as he made his way to the Match of the Day studios.
Wright, 58, thanked emergency services after escaped the accident unscathed on Saturday.
He was driving from London to the BBC in Manchester in terrible weather when his vehicle was forced to stop on the M56’s hard shoulder.
Wright tweeted a selfie grinning on the side of the motorway with the wreckage in the background, indicating that all was well.
He accompanied the snap with the message: “Not a straightforward trip up for @BBCMOTD!
“Thankfully nobody was hurt.
“Be careful out there, lots of water on the road.
“Thank you to my amazing driver Jay and the brilliant emergency services

Travellers are continuing to face disruption across the UK in the aftermath of 122mph Storm Eunice.
More than 430 flights due to take off or land at UK airports were cancelled on Friday, while the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge and the M48 Severn Bridge, which link England and Wales across the River Severn, were closed due to high winds.
The M4 Prince of Wales Bridge re-opened on Saturday, but the M48 Severn Bridge remains closed in both directions.
