Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has suggested Leeds United’s current form will be enough to secure their survival in the Premier League this season. The Whites have accumulated 10 points from their last four matches to open up a nine-point buffer between themselves and the bottom three.
Leeds had been in real trouble up until their recent resurgence in form, losing six games in a row, including a 3-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Everton. And after a shaky start to life at Elland Road, Jesse Marsch has helped to steady the ship in recent weeks to take Leeds within touching distance of survival.
Burnley and Everton, the sides directly below Leeds, both have two games in hand on the Whites and will be hoping to use that to their advantage to claw them back into the battle. In fact, the Sean Dyche’s side play three times before Leeds are back in action again when they make the Monday night trip to Crystal Palace.

The Clarets head to West Ham United on Sunday before facing consecutive home matches against Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers, which is likely to prove to be a huge seven days in the context of theirs, and Leeds’ season. But despite the number of matches still left to play, Wright has claimed with confidence that the Whites have already done enough to remain in the Premier League due to their fine recent form.
Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, he said: “Leeds, Brentford, both in great form. They’re staying up.”
