Ian Wright and Roy Keane send Erling Haaland warning to Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham

Ian Wright and Roy Keane have both waxed lyrical on the prospect of Erling Haaland playing in the Premier League this season for Man City, sending Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs a stark warning of what is to come from the striker.

Pep Guardiola's side kick off the 2022/23 campaign with the FA Community Shield against Liverpool, with both sides looking to show off their title credentials early on. Both sides have strengthened their squads this summer with the East Manchester club adding Kelvin Phillips and potentially Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella in the near future alongside the Norwegian star.

The Reds have spent big on Darwin Nunez as well as investing in younger players for the future that manager Jurgen Klopp will be looking to develop. The battle of the strikers will not only be apparent in the Community Shield but throughout the whole 2022/23 campaign.

Arsenal will hope the on-fire Gabriel Jesus will be able to match the goalscoring standards set by Haaland and Nunez respectively whilst Spurs will bank on their array of quality attackers with Everton star Richarlison added to the ranks. For Chelsea, they have already signed Raheem Sterling but hope to add more attackers before the September 1 deadline, but look likely to lose Timo Werner in addition to Romelu Lukaku's loan exit.

Nevertheless, Wright and Keane have warned the London trio of what is to come when Haaland gets his teeth stuck right into English football.

"You look at his record, we’ve been watching him in the Bundesliga and he’s scoring a goal a game almost," Wright said on ITV's coverage of the Community Shield.

"He looks so dynamic, 6ft 5ins, pace, skill, he’s got everything. He’s come to one of the best clubs in the world who needed a striker of that calibre, we’re not saying City have been struggling to win the league but with this guy in it and this calibre of player coming to the Premier League it’s exactly what you need."

Keane then added when asked for his verdict of the player who cost the current Champions a mere £51million: "Brilliant, brilliant player. Good age, 22, he hasn’t peaked yet, he’s working with a brilliant team, brilliant manager, he’s got all the attributes, you can’t imagine him not scoring 20 goals, you just can’t.

"If he stays fit, he’s obviously got the right attitude what a signing, you used a word there… exciting, that’s exactly what this young kid is and I’m excited to watch him over the next few months."
