Chelsea's Edouard Mendy has received some criticism following his role in the Netherlands' two goals against Senegal in the group A World Cup fixture between the two nations.
The opening 80 minutes of the match saw a significant lack of goalmouth action, but PSV forward Cody Gakpo, who is wanted by Arsenal, came up with a crucial goal for the Netherlands six minutes from time beating Edouard Mendy to a Frenkie De Jong cross.
There were some disagreements over who was at fault for the opening goal for the Dutch, with Ally McCoist who was on co-commentary saying he "wasn't too happy" with the Chelsea goalkeeper's decision making but football fans on social media had a slight difference of opinion.

However, there were far less differing views for his role in the second goal scored by Davy Klassen where Mendy palmed a tame Memphis Depay shot straight into the path of the second-half substitute. McCoist was again critical of Mendy with Ian Wright, in the full-time discussion, also in agreement.
McCoist said: "I wasn't too happy with the first and I'm not too happy with the second. He just palms in to an area where he should be pushing it wider.
"Depay comes in, oh dear me, the goalkeeper is really poor, it’s a comfortable one for him. Does he see it late? It’s not even going in. Just a follow up from Klassen for the goal."
Wright also offered his views on the goal: "For me, the goalkeeper has to do better. a goalkeeper of his calibre should be pushing that into a safe zone".
