Ian Rush believes Leeds United's current squad of players is good enough to finish in the top-half of the Premier League next season if they keep big players at Elland Road. The Whites survived on the final day of the last campaign and needed a favour from Newcastle United to condemn Burnley to their fate.
However, the Whites have spent the majority of the season without key players through injury. The likes of Kalvin Phillips, Raphinha, Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison have all been linked with moves away from Elland Road this summer given their recent plight.
Leeds' survival means they may well be able to postpone some of those departures but Rush believes the current squad can realistically finish in the top-half. Speaking in his his Gambling.com column, Rush said: “It remains to be seen whether Jesse Marsch is the right man for the job. However, he has to get a fully fit squad to succeed next season.

“The injuries completely ruined Leeds this season. They must retain their big players, such as Kelvin Phillips and Raphinha.
“With the squad they have at the moment, Leeds can have realistic hopes of finishing in the top half next season, although there’s a lot of competition for the top 10 now.”
