IAN MURRAY is set to be named as Raith Rovers’ new manager on Tuesday.
The former Scotland, Rangers and Hibernian defender has been identified by the Kirkcaldy club as the man to succeed John McGlynn, who left at the end of the season to join Falkirk.
Murray has impressed with Airdrie since taking over in 2018 following previous spells in charge of Dumbarton and St Mirren.
The 41-year-old steered the Diamonds to second place in League One this season with just two fewer wins than big-spending Cove Rangers.
However, after an incredible 6-5 aggregate win against Montrose in the play-off semi-finals, the Lanarkshire outfit suffered a surprise 3-2 defeat to Queen’s Park in the final.
It is understood Rovers, who finished a disappointing fifth in the Championship this term, are expected to confirm Murray’s appointment around lunchtime on Tuesday ahead of a formal unveiling at Stark’s Park.
