Chelsea have accepted an initial loan with obligation worth £31.5million from Burnley for defender Ian Maatsen.
The 21-year-old is reluctant to accept the move to his former loan club having made three appearances under Mauricio Pochettino this season.
Maatsen was more open to a move to West Ham but they have cooled their approach, with Aaron Cresswell now expected to stay.
The youngster may yet choose to move on Deadline Day with Marc Cucurella now expected to stay after a proposed loan move to Manchester United collapsed yesterday.

Maatsen also has renewed competition from new £40million signing Cole Palmer having been played out of position in the front four under Pochettino.
As first revealed by Standard Sport, Chelsea want Maatsen to sign a new deal if he chooses to stay in west London.
Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Mason Burstow is set to join Sunderland on a season-long loan deal and as Bashir Humphreys agrees a similar move to Swansea City.
