Notts County boss Ian Burchnall has issued a rallying cry to his players ahead of Saturday's crucial fixture against Woking.
The Magpies have won just two of their past six league matches, with the gap to top of the table Stockport having grown to 12 points.
Several fixture postponements have seen Notts lose some momentum in their promotion push this season, although they remain just a point outside the play-off places, with a game in hand.
And despite mixed results in recent weeks, the Magpies head coach believes it won't take much for their fortunes to turn around.
Burchnall said: "We were flying through weren't we. I mean we had some really, really good results and we were looking like we were going to be up and around it.
"Then we had a couple of cancellations and then a couple of poor results. Suddenly it was like: 'Oh, we're miles away again now'.
"But we looked at it and we thought we were only just past the halfway point really. There's still a lot of games and a lot of points and a lot of things can happen."
Burchnall also acknowledged that injuries and loss of form could still derail other teams which may allow County to pull ahead of them in the crucial final few months of the season.
He added: "Some squads are not huge especially if you have one or two key injuries. Chesterfield, of course, it was really unfortunate with Tshimanga's injury and he's been a massive player for them. You can't legislate for that.
"That's now something that they have to cope with. That can happen and change the whole climate of what's going on.
"So we have to focus really on ourselves and keep trying to be the best in each game that we can be. And then other teams can have little slips and problems.
"That can open the door so we just have to stay with it."
Burchnall went on to praise his young squad who he admits have had to take on a lot of responsibility with very few senior players at the club.
He said: "They are a fantastic group, so hungry to learn, want to improve and push each other.
"They are a positive group and quite a young group really when you look across the board.
"There are not lots of senior players. Some young lads have to take some responsibility in there which they do.
"It's a really enjoyable group to work with. I just think they're a credit to the club."
The Magpies boss also reiterated that a lot could still happen this season, saying: "We're not exactly where we want to be in the league. But there's a long, long way to go.
"A lot of points to fight for, and I think we just got to keep focusing on improving. And I think the players want. Because they want to get better it certainly makes my job easier."
