Notts County returned to winning ways in the National League against Barnet in great fashion.
A 6-1 win at Meadow Lane featured five different goal scorers in Callum Roberts, Ruben Rodrigues, Kyle Wootton, Matt Palmer and Elisha Sam, who helped himself to a brace.
And following a 2-1 defeat in their previous home game, against Grimsby Town, manager Ian Burchnall admitted it was important to bounce back in front of their own fans.
"We were so disappointed at the end of the game against Grimsby, but felt this was a good opportunity to try to bounce back at home," Burchnall told NottinghamshireLive.
"The biggest thing for me was to show character, to start the game positively on the front foot, and I thought we did that really well.
"First half we were ruthless, we just attacked relentlessly and I thought we created so many good opportunities. In the second half we started again really well. although there was a patch where I thought we started to overplay and used a few too many touches.
"Their goal was a bit disappointing, but we picked it back up and looked a goal threat every time we went forward, and I think that's great."
Burchnall went on to explain the thinking behind a change in formation to a 4-3-2-1.
He said: "I think we're very clear with our identity. Teams work really hard to stop us and I think we need to be a little bit more unpredictable and switch between a three and a four a bit more freely, so we started with a four this time. I thought the players did really well.
"It doesn't mean a four is going to suit every game but we need to have that as an option and be able to move to that at times. We must be a bit more unpredictable in the way we play."

Belgian forward Sam, who has been restricted to game time this season, was making his eighth appearance in the game against Barnet.
Burchnall added: "I said to the boys in the dressing room, I think that is a great message to everybody that he hasn't played much this season.
"But he's not complained one minute, he's trained relentlessly, he's improved and really worked hard at his game - we've seen it in recent weeks.
"He's kept his head down and shown what it's all about. They have to have that mindset and I think he's had a very strong mindset."
Despite the comfortable result, the Magpies conceded for the 29th time in 25 games after Ephron Mason-Clark pulled one back in the second-half.
"I said at half time I wanted us to be ultra disciplined and more ruthless, and we were going forward but I thought we got a couple of bad habits for a spell of 10 to 15 minutes, and got punished," Burchnall continued.
"It's a good lesson for us, maybe in a game where we're 2-0 up and comfortable, that can be 2-1 and it can cause a problem."
The Magpies will be back in National League action on Saturday (3pm) away to Halifax Town, only a point away from the promotion play-offs spot.
