Iain Lee hits out at 'bully' Rebekah Vardy as WAG promotes mental health awareness

Iain Lee claims Rebekah Vardy made him "f**king miserable and isolated" when they both appeared on I'm A Celebrity together in 2017.

The 48-year-old broadcaster made the seething comment about Jamie Vardy's wife on Twitter, after he says he was contacted to take part in an interview about how Rebekah is "so brave for promoting mental health".

He called Rebekah a "bully, a liar and a manipulator" and turned down the request to take part in the interview.

On the social media app, he reminded fans of their time on the ITV reality series together - where he accused her of bullying him.

Iain tweeted: "Just had an interview request to talk about how Rebekah Vardy is so brave for promoting mental health...she contributed to me being f**king miserable and isolated in the jungle...so, that's a pass from me."

He then shared his response to the outlet that had asked him for the interview, writing: "I feel I have to explain my refusal.

"I don't know if you saw any of I'm A Celebrity when I was in there. Vardy was a bully, a liar and a manipulator. She was part of a team that targeted me and made much of my time in there miserable."

Iain continued: "Her first comment to me was 'I think you're a bit of a t**t'. She encouraged people not to talk to and left me isolated (apart from two camp mates who were not taken in by her).

"When she came out of the camp she told lies about me. She bullied my sister who was staying in Australia and told her, 'In my world, men don't cry'."

"Part of me hopes your email is a ruse to get an interview from me which I think is about her bravery and they you skewer to make it about her bullying and belittleing," the broadcaster added.

"I hope the latter is correct because if you are trying to show her as a mental health ambassador, I'm afraid you couldn't be further from the truth."

Rebekah vehemently denied bullying claims during the 2017 series and sobbed as she insisted she hadn't targeted the broadcaster as part of a gang.

After Iain exited the jungle, he claimed the WAG had bullied him.

Speaking on his talkRADIO show in 2019, Iain alleged: "I didn't get on with Rebekah [in the jungle]. I found her very dark… I got a very dark energy from her. The first thing she said to me was, 'I thought you were a f**king t**t'.

"I found her thoroughly unpleasant. It's no secret her and Jamie Lomas were my least favourite."

After a phone call from her management revealed she had been accused of ganging up on Iain, she said: "You know what, I was the one that was being the most supportive of him. A bully? I've never been a bully in my whole entire life."

The Mirror has contacted Rebekah's representative for a comment.
