'I worked at B&M and there's a perfect time to visit the store to get 10p bargains'

B&M shoppers love to find bargains, it's no secret. But customers might not know there's a particular time of the day you should visit if you're looking to get the best deal.

According to a former worker, staff routinely slash prices on specific days to make room for new stock, sometimes cutting costs as low as 10p.

So it could be well worth holding off on your planned visit in order to arrive once the goods have been discounted.

The tips and tricks that all shoppers will want to know come courtesy of Roxanne Noble, from Huddersfield. The sales fulfilment administrator amassed nearly a decade's worth of experience working for the discount chain after she joined as a cashier and worked her way to deputy manager.

Now, the ex-B&M manager has shared all to Fabulous. She said: "If the company wanted rid of something to make room for new stock they'd discount things to 10p.

"It'd be anything and everything including £30 bedding sets, curtains, rugs etc.

"They do price changes every Monday to Thursday, but the main one was on a Wednesday when they'd do quite a lot at once and they'd drop the prices to 10p."

According to Roxanne, B&M's paint stock came from Dulux and Johnstone's, and it wasn't unusual to see branded paint down to £5 from £25.

Meanwhile, bedding and other house furnishings were often reduced; she once snagged £40 curtains for just £1.

But that's not all. The ex-manager said the staff got first pick when it came to the reduced-price items. Roxanne also made the most of her 10% staff discount, which sometimes rose to 20% for special occasions, like Christmas.

Thanks to her savvy shopping, she decorated her house without paying much more than a fiver. She's not the only customer who saw great results using the store's bargains, either.

Emily Gardner, from Heckmondwike in West Yorkshire, transformed her kitchen on a budget after visiting the retailer.

Instead of forking out a fortune on tiles and getting someone to fit them, she bought the chic stick-on tiles from B&M bargains, at £10 for a pack of five.

She finished off the project with vinyl stickers from B&Q, which costs £5.50 for a 2m roll, bringing the total cost to £130.
