Good old Pancake Day, it's never quite straight forward is it.
If you manage to remember the day at all - it's Tuesday, February 21 by the way - you usually end up forgetting at least one key ingredient resulting in a last minute dash to the corner shop.
And in a world of Insta perfect creations, it feels there's a lot of live up to, especially if you're usually triumphant at just managing to stop one from sticking to the pan.

I'm definitely in the latter camp so I was a bit nervous about putting Aldi's pancake pan to the test.
I mean the mini pancakes with animal faces look amazing on the advert, but are they really going to turn out like that?
There was only one way to find out.
They look quite thick on Aldi's advert so I stuck with my usual waffle mixture that I regularly make up for our waffle machine.
Making them was actually a doddle and they turned out much better than I expected. While not looking exactly like the ones in the ad, I had seven perfectly formed pikelets, with cute little faces on them including an adorable French bulldog, an elephant, a hippo and more.
My children are older now, 12 and 14, so I wasn't sure how impressed they'd be, but they loved them and were soon grabbing their favourite toppings to smother them with.
Who doesn't love a pancake? We were all tucking in so we had two pans' worth between the four of us.
There's no pressure to toss these ones either. It'd be a miracle if you tossed all seven and they landed back in their holes.
I won't be needing my frying pan again with this little beauty.
The pancake pan costs £9.99 in Aldi and comes in various designs. If you struggle to find one in store, Amazon sells similar versions.
