The TV show Radha Krishn will go off air today and lead actor Sumedh Mugdalkar, who played Lord Krishna is emotional and nostalgic about his journey which began in 2016.
Walking down memory lane, Sumedh says, "Initially, we started work on the show in 2016, but due to some creative issues, the show didn't take off and we were left disappointed. Then in 2018, we again started shooting for the pilot. I went to Umbergaon for a month before the shoot to prep for the role. Later we began shooting there and I was away from my family and friends in Pune and Mumbai. But when I look back at the past few years, it feels great that I achieved something."
Very few people know that Sumedh was actually offered to play the negative role in RadhaKrishn when he auditioned for the role. He reveals, "I had played negative roles earlier and the casting guys had seen me in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat and they felt that I could play a negative role in the show. But I refused. Then someone pursued me to go for an audition because it was Siddharth Kumar Tewary's show. So I auditioned for the role, even though it was a negative role. But, to my surprise, the next day they called me saying, I needed to go back and do a mock shoot for Lord Krishna's role. Later, I came to know that producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary felt I could play Lord Krishna. And at first, I could not believe it, but then my entire efforts were focussed on convincing the team how I could play the part. And the rest is history."
