I have to say before I ordered the UGG Tasman, I was of the opinion that £100 was a lot to spend on slippers. Too much. I'd just try them on, see what all the fuss was about, then I'd send them back and keep my money. But then they arrived...

You can immediately see the quality detailing, and the super soft shearling lining feels like no other. They look so effortlessly stylish too - in fact they're almost too good to save for inside the house.
My UGG slippers are a very recent addition to my wardrobe, but woman&home's Digital Editor Kerrie Hughes is a long-time fan, so I sought her advice before purchasing.
She told me: "I remember a few years back when UGG released its new Tasman slippers-but-not-slippers and the world went wild for them. I have to say I found it all very confusing, I mean, sheepskin slippers are hardly new, are they? Sure they looked nice, but enough for them to sell out literally everywhere - it was all a bit much.
"I fully acknowledge the irony here as I now admit to falling fully into the trap of ‘needing’ them like everyone else. Only by the time I got round to it, I was looking at spending three times the amount on eBay. But a stroke of bad luck for my friend with small feet who grabbed a pair bigger thinking they would be ok, was good luck for me when she found her feet falling out of them with every step. She gave me mates rates and I was the proud new owner of some slippers.
"I subsequently got home and bent the truth to my other half about how much they’d cost me. As someone who, up to this point, had never worn slippers, what possessed me to spend £80 on a pair is beyond me. But alas, I did, and I would say there’s been few days in the last two years that I haven’t worn them. I wouldn’t be without them."

UGG Tasman Slippers: Comfort & Support
Much like UGG boots, the brand's slippers offer unparalleled comfort. They're super cosy and just a treat for your feet every time you slip them on. My initial impression when I first opened the box was just how lightweight they are too. Much lighter than the UGG boots I had back in the day, for sure.
They're also incredibly easy to get on - which isn't always true of boot or ballet pump-style slipper - although I would recommend sizing up. I'm a size 3.5 and ordered a UK 4, but in hindsight a 5 might even have been better. It definitely takes some time for the pillowy soft shearling to flatten down a little, so until then they might feel a little on the small side.
What's really nice is the embroidered detailing goes up to your ankle - they're not slip-on slippers in the sense you'll be standing on the back and flattening them down. They're more of an easy step-in design, if you see what I mean.
Support-wise, my feet have been feeling a little achy recently due to long days of running around. The UGG Tasman is like stepping into little clouds. No pain, no rubbing, just complete comfort. Bliss!
UGG Tasman Slippers: Style
Style-wise, you are absolutely getting what you pay for. Name a more stylish slipper - I'll wait?
UGG is a hugely popular brand at the moment, and there's a reason for that. Featuring the branding on the side, as well as the distinctive braid trim, there's no denying they're a thing of beauty.
They look great with everything from pyjamas, leggings and joggers at home to jeans and a jumper, like Alex Jones is wearing here. You could even try them with tailored trousers or a blazer if you fancy mixing things up a bit. They also really work with socks, even though this might feel like a fashion faux pas at first!
They'd be really good for travelling in. Nobody on a plane is going to think you're wearing your slippers, but truly it feels like you are, and you can slip them on and off easily.
UGG Tasman Slippers: Cleaning
The sole is super durable and can be worn outdoors, but I do recommend using a good suede protector spray at the first opportunity. So far, mine look as good as new. If you're worried about stains, the black might be a good idea, rather than the chestnut tan colour I have.
Verdict
I haven't worn UGGs in probably 15 years, and whilst I'm not yet ready to fully commit to a pair of boots again, these slippers are a great way to dip a toe back into the trend.
The USP of these is the indoor to outdoor use. If you exclusively want a slipper for home, the Scuffette style is a really popular choice, or there is the UGG Tazz slippers with their taller platform sole.
If you're used to regularly buying slippers for £10 a time at the supermarket, adding an extra nought to that price tag might feel like a lot. However, learn how to clean UGGs, and these are going to last you for years. Even if you only wear yours at home and for running errands, think how much time that is, and the maths does itself.
Guess what? I didn't send them back. And it was £100 well spent!
