Piers Morgan was back on ITV a little over a year after he left the Good Morning Studio following a heated debate over Meghan Markle, as he joined Lorraine Kelly to talk about his new talk show, Piers Morgan: Uncensored. In a nod to his headline-making exit from the ITV show the controversial presenter jokingly walked off set at the end of the interview.
The presenter and broadcaster, who yesterday announced that his first guest would be former US President Donald Trump, told Lorraine, as he entered to Eminem’s Without Me: “It’s lovely to see everyone… The old faces, most of whom were clapping when I left.”
Responding to the teaser he released for his interview with President Trump, he said: "The President got very heated with me because he thinks he should have won the last election. We had a very animated and heated discussion."

The ‘heated’ discussion has provoked a reaction from President Trump who said: "Piers Morgan, like the rest of the Fake News Media, attempted to unlawfully and deceptively edit his long and tedious interview with me. He wanted to make it look like I walked out on the interview when my time limit went over by an hour”
In response to Trump’s comments, Morgan said to Lorraine: “I always try and be fair about Trump. I’ve tried to be more balanced than most journalists about Trump and this interview is a perfect example of that!"
Morgan described how the interview with Trump got heated when he questioned whether he is the ‘right guy’ to be next President.
The host went on to add: "We live in a society where if you raise your head above the parapet, the woke brigade come for you!” and said that his only regret from leaving ITV is that they "tried to make me apologise for something I believe in."
Morgan has since doubled down on his belief that the Duchess of Sussex has been untruthful and that she and Prince Harry want to create a ‘rival, renegade royal family.’
"I don’t think you can have your royal cake and eat it! I’m going to cover that on my show," stressing his belief that he was 'cancelled from Good Morning Britain.'
“If you’re watching right now and want to hear uncensored opinions from that guy from Good Morning Britain, get over to Talk TV on Monday," he said. But despite the manner in which he left, Morgan told Lorraine that he had a positive experience working with ITV and talked particularly about his relationship with co-host Susanna Reid. Before he jokingly stormed offset, he said: “I loved trebling the ratings and I look forward to continuing to do that on my new show.”
Piers Morgan: Uncensored begins on TalkTV on Monday 25 April. Sky (channel 526), Virgin Media (channel 627), Freeview (channel 237) and Freesat (channel 217).
