Nico Raskin has admitted Rangers needed the fire from Barry Ferguson as he detailed the differences in playing under him and former boss Philippe Clement.
The Ibrox midfielder - who has been heavily involved under both managers - has revealed Ferguson has brought much-needed energy and desire to succeed in Glasgow.
The Belgian internationalist reckons Rangers may well have needed an "electric shock" after being "too soft" in some matches this term.
For Raskin, the main difference has been in preparation for matches with Clement more practical than passionate compared with interim manager Ferguson.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Raskin explained: "I would say Barry is maybe a bit more passionate and lives the moment with a lot of energy and passion.

"With Philippe, it was maybe more practical and based on every single aspect of the game.
"The gaffer is just trying to bring it to us, desire and passion to win every game.
"In the situation we were in, sometimes we needed an electric shock, someone who comes and puts the fire in a good way, a positive way.
"There have been too many games where we maybe felt a bit soft in emotions."
Raskin said of his time at Rangers to date: "I love to be here and it has been a good season for me. I have enjoyed every moment.
"I have received nothing from outside and neither from the club. I am living the season day by day and focus on the next game."
Asked if Rangers is where he wants to be, he added: "Yeah, of course, that is an amazing club."
