Former England international Rachel Brown-Finnis believes that VAR was correct to award Brentford a penalty on the stroke of half-time in Saturday's Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest.
Having taken the lead courtesy of Morgan Gibbs-White's sublime first-half finish, Forest appeared to be heading into the break with the lead before VAR intervened.
Andre Marriner initially waved away penalty appeals from the visitors when Yoane Wissa went down under the challenge of Dean Henderson, but awarded the Bees a spot-kick when Lee Mason on VAR recommended that Marriner reviewed his on-field decision.

Bryan Mbuemo eventually converted to bring his side level and Brown-Finnis believes the eventual outcome was appropriate despite a lengthy wait. "I understand why this penalty decision took a long time because there were a few decisions to make," she told BBC's Final Score.
"First of all, was it a penalty? Yes, I do think it was. The referee didn't initially give it and there was contact."
The 42-year-old also highlighted why a red card should not have been brandished to the Manchester United loanee by explaining: "Henderson left his arm out because he's looking to try and play the ball which is why it wasn't a red card.
"It was a yellow card because he took him out. But it's all the right decisions."
Wissa would continue to play a major role in proceedings as his 75th-minute effort gave the visitors a second-half lead - but Forest grabbed a last-gasp equaliser as the game finished in a 2-2 draw.
