I tried three new Heinz limited edition mayonnaises and there was one clear winner

Heinz has recently launched a new range of 'Mayo Mashupz', and being a huge mayo lover, I knew I had to give them a try.

Please bear in mind I pretty much put mayonnaise on everything, and have been judged in the past for the sheer amount I blob onto my plate. The new sauces include 'MayoRacha', 'MayoMust', and 'MayoCue', and I was very excited to indulge.

The MayoRacha is a combination of mayonnaise and sriracha and is described as 'sweet', 'tangy', and 'ideal for dipping pizza crusts and chips'. For mustard lovers, the MayoMust is described as perfect for hot dogs, sandwiches and chicken.

Finally, the 'MayoCue' is a combination of mayonnaise and barbecue sauce, with a 'special blend of spices' that aim to 'liven-up meat dishes' such as burgers, and pizza. The launch of the new range comes after the release of the Heinz 'Saucy Sauce' which is a mix of ketchup and mayonnaise (which I have also tried, may I add!)

I tried all three different mayonnaises with some chunky chips, and came to a swift verdict. It was a close call, but there was definitely one clear winner.

The MayoRacha

As much as I like spice, I was a little worried the MayoRacha would be too spicy and ruin the flavour of my chips. I ended up being pleasantly surprised, because the mayo offered just the right amount of spice without being too much.

It was the perfect mixture of spice and creaminess, and had a surprising amount of flavour even with the smallest of blobs. The mayo was thick and looked similar to the Heinz 'Saucy Sauce' in terms of colouring, and I really enjoyed it.

For those who aren't keen on spice, I probably wouldn't recommend this one, because it does have a kick. I personally, thought it was a lovely addition to my chips.

The MayoMust

Next on the mayo agenda was the 'MayoMust', I’ll be honest, I had high hopes for this one, but I wasn’t too fussed about it in the end. I absolutely love mustard, but for me, the flavour wasn’t completely there.

I hoped the mustard flavour would be more prominent, but it was actually way more mild than I thought it would be. However, I wouldn’t say that was a bad thing, because you don’t want the mustard flavour to be too overpowering.

In comparison to the strong flavours of the MayoRacha it was relatively bland, but I still enjoyed it.

Rating: 3/5

The MayoCue

This by far was the winner for me. I’m a big lover of barbecue sauce, and this mayo offered the absolute perfect balance.

It was smoky and sweet with an underlying subtle creaminess that made my chips taste extra good. The mayo was also incredibly moreish, and added a bit of pizazz to what was a pretty bland chip.

Rating: 5/5

The Verdict

I was so impressed with all three mayos, but the MayoCue certainly won by far. It was so flavourful - and I’m pretty sure I’m going to be putting this mayo on everything now.

All three sauces are available in ASDA stores from February 13 for £3.39 for a 400ml bottle for 12 months only. You can purchase the ASDA Heinz mayonnaises here.
