W7 have revealed its 2022 festive beauty calendar and I think it would make a perfectly packed gift in the lead up to Christmas. Lifestyle, homeware, beauty and make-up brands have all started to release their 2022 advent calendars and nowadays there is such a huge selection on offer.
From the extravagant £165 MAC 'Box of Tricks' and 'The Beauty Story' from Look Fantastic, to the a conscious beauty calendar from Holland & Barrett, there's so much choice. As beauty advent calendars come, this is one of the most affordable options at £19.95, and its price point is one of the reasons I love it.
The calendar has a selection of 24 cosmetic products, ranging from everyday skin care to statement shimmery make-up products. Having taken a glimpse at everything inside, it's safe to say you can't go wrong with W7's 2022 Beauty Blast Calendar for yourself or as a gift to someone.

My first impressions
My first thought when I opened the box was its presentation. The 24 boxes come neatly in a puzzle-like arrangement, which immediately stands out. Visually this makes it easy to see and find the right date box, and gives a glimpse at when you can expect a bigger-sized product.
The bigger, full sized products appear to be numbers one, three, 15 and 24, although the box size didn't always truly reflect the product inside. This was the case for the first box, and to my dismay the large number one box in fact held a pink scrunchie, and as useful as it may be I was expecting a powder of some sort.
I loved some of the make-up products and think some of the choices are on point. I personally feel like you can never go wrong with an extra bronzer, blush, highlighter or banana powder. However, I do feel some choices weren't thought out enough - a beauty blender was a great touch, but I don't need two hair scrunchies.
Negatives aside lets get onto the positives as there are quite a few to be shared. The product variety for the price you pay is very good. For under £20 it includes a handful of staple products that I would use all the time, from its eye-lust mascara and overnight lip balm, to its well-known honolulu bronzer, in a travel size.
My favourite product, maybe because I love anything skincare, is its glow prime radiant primer. It's only a small 5ml bottle but it has such a lovely champagne shimmer to it. I think this would be perfect addition to a Christmas day 'minimal make-up look' with the primer, a touch of concealer and some mascara to lounge around at home in.
It's a product I've not bought from W7 before, but after trying it out in the calendar I will definitely buy a bigger sized primer. Another one of my favourites is the rebel blush because of its slightly shimmery undertone. Again this is a travel sized product but because it has a good pigment you wouldn't need to use a lot of product at a time.
Overall I think it's a neatly put together calendar, that's not too over the top but still feels like a treat, that would add a nice sparkle to most people's make-up bags. You can't go wrong with buying this.
