A kebab is one of those foods you can't help but enjoy, especially after a night out.
German Doner Kebab in Liverpool is offering a new kebab that looks a little different to the ones we're used to. The 'Coco' or 'Kiki' kebab is packed with donner meat and fresh salad served in a pink coconut-infused waffle bread.
The kebab is part of a collaboration with the Coco & Kiki fashion collection, designed by Dresscodenation and I was very intrigued to see how it tasted. Served in fluffy pink coconut-infused waffle bread, the kebabs come in two different sizes combined with doner meats, fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, red cabbage.

The Coco kebab is priced at £6.99 and the smaller Kiki kebab costs just £3. I went for the larger Coco kebab and let's just say - it was a thing of beauty.
The Kebab
It was time to tuck in, and I was very excited. The kebab itself was a lot more pink than I imagined it would be, in my mind I thought it would be a subtle pastel pink, but it was a hot dark pink that almost looked fluorescent.
It was hard to imagine what the flavour would be like on something that has such a bold colour. But it actually seemed to really enhance the filling, which was an array of bright coloured salad and juicy looking meat.
I took a bite into the kebab (which was absolutely massive, may I add) and was overwhelmed with an amazing flavour. The sweetness of the pink waffle offered a subtle hint of coconut that wasn't too overpowering, and really complemented the salty meat well.
The salad in the kebab was fresh and added a really nice crunch to the kebab. Although the kebab was stuffed with meat, it wasn't greasy or unbearable, which is something you often find with kebabs.
It came with a range of different sauces for dipping including garlic, yoghurt and spicy, which were all very different and very complimentary to the kebab. My personal favourite was the spicy, which almost had a slight hint of mango in it.
If you're put off by the fact that the waffle bread is infused with coconut, don't be, because it's actually very subtle. I was quite surprised with how subtle the coconut flavour was, let's just say it wasn't like biting into a bounty!
Sometimes when you tuck into a doner kebab it can feel very heavy and claggy, but the Coco kebab felt light and airy with just the right amount of filling. It was especially tasty after a dip in the sauce too.
The Verdict
I ended up really liking this kebab, so much so that I ended up eating the while thing. The pink waffle bread added a unique element to the kebab that had just the right amount of sweet flavour.
It was soft and smooth with a good crunch in the middle, and the meat was like velvet. Never in my life did I think I'd end up eating a pink kebab, but I'll definitely be doing it again - that's for sure.
