This Good Friday, sandwich giant Subway has teamed up with confectionery king Cadbury for an Easter-themed collaboration dubbed the SubMelt.
The sweet treat comes on a six inch Italian white bread sub, stuffed with Cadbury's beloved Creme Eggs. It's toasted to ensure the gooey chocolate melts, and is described by Subway as "golden toasted on the outside and deliciously gooey on the inside".
The limited edition Easter creation is only available today, (Friday, April 7) and is completely free. There's 500 SubMelts up for grabs across four locations, including Liverpool.

Being a massive fan of Creme Eggs, I went down to the branch on Ranelagh Street in the city centre to snap one up before they vanished for good. I wasn’t particularly enthralled by the idea, despite my proclivity for Creme Eggs, but was still rather intrigued by the concept.
The store opened at 8am this morning and I found myself waiting outside completely on my own. I'd expected to be faced with a large queue, but it was just me and a sweet and excited college student named Daisy for the most part.
Upon entering the store, the friendly staff dropped the bombshell - the sandwich wasn't being served until 10am. Two more people then entered the store and also asked for the Creme Egg sub.
The staff explained that as it's made with a different type of bread, it wouldn't be ready for 20 minutes but we were more than welcome to wait, and they'd serve it up to us. We chose to hang around a little longer to snap it up.
Anticipation built during the wait, and despite my initial trepidation, I was genuinely keen to give it a go - especially when I saw the sandwich didn't look as bizarre as I'd expected it to.
The filling was nowhere near as thick and generous as depicted on the advertorial images but once toasted, it did ooze and look satisfyingly rich. It was wrapped in a cardboard pocket, and I headed off to the bus stop to venture home where I could try it in peace. But, after taking a few bites, I was a little underwhelmed.
I'd expected the SubMelt to either be sickly sweet and unpleasant, or completely delicious. It's somewhere slap bang in the middle of the two. In fact, I'll use the adjective my English teacher banned us from using at school because there's "always a better option", but it was just… nice?
The filling had congealed a little by the time I got home, so was no longer the lovely, melted, gooey affair I'd seen in store. It just tasted like chocolate spread. It wasn't offensive in any way, nor was it something I fell in love with. It was okay, but nothing to love or hate.
Surprisingly, it was the bread that was the worst thing about it. It dried out really quickly and made the sandwich quite tough to eat. As the filling was no longer melted, it was a tough and claggy consistency that, combined with the dryness of the bread, made for a relatively bland experience.
Some bites were nice (sorry, Mrs Myers) enough, others were tough and not really worth the effort. Perhaps if I'd eaten it straight away, in store, it would have been different but based on my experience, it's certainly not something I'd eat again.
If you're a fan of Creme Eggs, or chocolate spread, then you'll definitely like this. I think it's something that most definitely benefits from being eaten fresh though, so my advice would be not to travel with it.
The limited edition Easter snack is only available in four stores across the country - and it's free of charge. The Creme Egg melt is available this Good Friday (April 7) for free in Liverpool, London, Swansea and Glasgow.
There's only 500 melts being dished up, so keen Subway fans will have to be quick. The Creme Egg Melt is available at Liverpool's Ranelagh Street Subway branch, L1 1QT.
