I am one of those people who mainly wears black.
And I mean plain black. You won't see me in a print but occasionally I will allow a Benetton stripe.
So in a quest to bring a little colour into my wardrobe, I was influenced to purchase one of the many viral Cider dresses. The one that caught my eye was the Cider Curve & Plus 'fruit square neck puff sleeve midi dress'. The version with the lemon print has proved to be very popular online, but I felt that was a bit too bright so opted for a more autumnal print - marked as 'multicolour' online.

There is also a cherry print (red) and peach print (white) and all are available in Cider sizes XXS (size 4) to 4XL (size 28). The dress is currently on sale for £17.90, which I think is a bargain given the quality and cut.
I ordered mine in a 2XL (UK size 20), my usual size and I have to say I waited a while for it to arrive, but it was worth the wait. The material is lovely and light and because it is true to size, the cut makes it very flattering, particularly over your tummy as it skims over and is floaty and loose. I loved the muted print, and cannot wait to wear it in autumn.
I am 5ft 5in, and it was fairly long on me, perhaps a little longer than a midi dress should be, but I did not mind that. The split in the side is not too high and the neckline is adjustable meaning it will fit you perfectly.
It felt like I had immediately tried to look a little glamourous with such a simple dress and received compliments all day - but perhaps people were shocked by the amount of colour I was wearing. I think you could very easily give this dress a more evening look with heels and the right jewellery, although I dressed it down with my trusty flats.
As easy as this dress is to wear, I would make two changes. Firstly, I would add pockets, because I would have pockets added to all women's clothing. If they can give pockets to newborns (what do they need to carry!?) then they can add a few pockets to dresses.
And secondly, I would remove the elastic from the sleeves. I know, I know, the puffball sleeve is still big (literally), but I felt this particular cut just wasn't that flattering and it would have been perfect if it was more of a waterfall sleeve of the same length.
That said, this was a great purchase for me, easy to wear and it washed really well. I can see why this brand has been gaining a lot of hype, especially with their curve and plus size range.
