'I tried the plumping lipgloss you can get £15 cheaper at Home Bargains and the results were wild'

Home Bargains are known for their low prices, affordable homeware and cute and quirky gifts - but it’s a £1.99 lip gloss that’s been sending shoppers wild.

That’s because it usually retails at £17.95 at Boots, and is still £15.60 on Amazon , meaning beauty buffs are copping a great deal at Home Bargains, saving nearly £15.

The lipgloss is by the Wunderbrow brand, under the ‘Wunderkiss’ name - and it offers some rather dramatic results.

The plumping lip gloss, which I could only find in the clear version in store, is said to offer naturally plumper looking lips in two minutes.

It took a few different store trips to find the popular ‘extreme’ plumping gloss in stock, but I finally hit the jackpot and found one. Alongside it was the Wunderkiss shea butter and sugar lip scrub, which provides the perfect prep for the gloss - but I stuck with the one product people just can’t stop talking about.

One shopper shared the find on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook, which racked up 1,800 comments.

One shopper said: “I need this in my life!” while another wrote: “This is bloody fab, I picked up some to try the scrub and the gloss.”

One said it even made them look like they’d had lip filler, writing: “Brought this yesterday, actually felt like I’d had filler. I said to my sister ‘they feel plumped, do they look it?’, she said actually they do. Wasn’t expecting much.”

It’s also received more than 400 five star reviews on Amazon, where there is a greater shade range to choose from.

After applying a full face of makeup, I definitely felt odd not applying my usual MAC Velvet Teddy lipstick, but I opened up the Wunderkiss plumping gloss and applied it generously to my lips.

I’m quite lucky to have naturally full lips thanks to my dad’s genetics, but there is something of a trend for overlined, faux-lip-filler, looks at the moment. Especially for those who want fuller lips without the cost, maintenance or permanency.

The directions simply state to ‘apply directly to lips’ and ‘wait two minutes’, which is exactly what I did, packing up the rest of my makeup while I waited.

The product is said to be infused with a ‘concentrated lip plumping complex’, which as you apply gives a sensation of heating and cooling for plumper looking lips. After around 30 seconds, I began to feel the tingle, and unlike other plumping products I’ve used, it wasn’t unbearably intense or sore.

The cruelty-free beauty product contains collagen and hyaluronic acid to boost lip volume and macadamia seed oil and jojoba oil to nourish lips.

After two minutes there was a subtle but noticeable difference in the volume of my lips, offering a picture-worthy pout. This could be accentuated further with a touch of lip liner, applying lipstick on top of the Wunderkiss gloss.

And while I’d be highly unlikely to pay full price for this product, it’s an absolute steal at Home Bargains for £1.99. But if you can’t find it in store, Amazon is the cheapest we’ve found it online.
